The Real Madrid Foundation gave a training course for coaches from Iraqi Kurdistan
The Real Madrid Foundation’s technical staff taught their They play, we teach football training course to 12 coaches who will be responsible for running the sports academy due to be opened in Iraqi Kurdistan. The training course took place at Real Madrid City, where the coaches learned the methodology and looked at the sport from a different perspective, where fun and learning about personal values are connected with football.
During the practical session the philosophy of life was taught through football coaching and how to use it to forge a personality based on respect, cooperation, integrity and empathy. The contents of the course are designed so that children not only receive technical and tactical training, as well as physical development, but so that they learn about principles, values, knowledge of the rules and the importance of fair play.
In addition, the coaches from Iraqi Kurdistan completed a session with some students from the Real Madrid Foundation’s sports academy at the Luis Aragonés municipal sports centre. Both the students from Madrid as well as the visitors enjoyed the experience and the opportunity to share it with people from other cultures.
The coaches also visited the Real Madrid pitches and facilities. The closing ceremony, at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium, was attended by the most important diplomatic representative from Iraqi Kurdistan in Spain, Daban Shadala, who congratulated the coaches for their enthusiasm and expressed his desire to see the Realmadrid Foundation’s philosophy used to help children in Iraqi Kurdistan.
